City Homicide follows a team of four young police detectives investigating brutal homicides in the city of Melbourne. Coming to terms with the trauma and tension such work brings to personal and professional life, each member of the team must question their moral outlook and consider what drives them. The young detectives rely on Detective Senior Sergeant Stanley Wolfe (Shane Bourne - Blue Heelers, Thank God You’re Here) and Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley (Noni Hazlehurst) for essential support and guidance. Shane Bourne calls Stanley Wolfe “a tough-but-fair practicing Christian [who has] skeletons in his closet”.

Mainly filmed at Seven studios in Melbourne, City Homicide’s exterior scenes include key features of Melbourne’s landscape, such as the city’s distinctive trams. With a cast of numerous high profile Australian personalities, including Daniel MacPherson (Neighbours, Tripping Over), Damien Richardson (The Secret Life of Us, The Hard Word [movie with Guy Pearce]) and Nadine Garner (The Secret Life of Us, Stingers), City Homicide has received top scores from both critics and audiences, considered a drama series of superior quality to previous Australian police shows. City Homicide creators John Hugginson and John Banas have previously worked on Water Rats, Blue Heelers, and All Saints.
