Agreed on Ryan Shelton. He thinks he is Hamish Blake which he clearly is not because Hamish is somewhat funny.

For an example, David Letterman, Michael Parkinson and Andrew Denton can not only interview a guest but engage them and I find they usually divulge more than what they probably expected. Rove also needs someone to write him some decent questions. Whenever he has somebody plugging a film, he asks them just about every irrelevant or uninteresting question under the sun except about the film. Considering Rove manages to get alot of high profile celebrities on his show, you would think he would make the most of it but I don't think he does. I can recognise he has his fans and is appealing to a certain demographic and I used to like his show years ago but I just find most aspects of it nowadays painful to watch.
I understand what you mean but Rove is light entertainment and I think he just flys by the seat of his pants and offers the guests something different to the other 200 interviews that they have done on the same subject. It will actually be interesting to see if he comes back next year as it seems there are more and more people that feel the same as you... I hope he comes back anyway...

I totally agree with Memphis, the show hasn't been as good as it once was for a couple of years now. Although I do like Rove, the show seems so unrehearsed and awkward. I find myself cringing when he interviews big celebs... It's just getting repetitive and a little boring. The stage makeover did help a little, I'll give him that. He is still in my good books though...

It's confirmed that he is coming back so hopefully the show will continue to evolve and he ditches Ryan Shelton....

Hamish is brilliant, Andy is not a comedian. He's just a sidekick and something for Hamish to bounce off. Have a look next time you see them on the show, count the jokes that Hamish makes versus the jokes Andy makes - there is a serious imbalance there! Still, I suppose it's a tradition for funny men to have a straight man by their side - makes them look even funnier. Lano and Woodley were equally funny - but maybe that's what split them up.
