Start Weight: 139kg. 21 year old Courtney is the baby of the group and decided to join the competition through embarrassment over his size and mocking from his friends. His dream is to walk into a clothing store and be able to try on whatever he wants from the rack.

Start Weight: 157kg. Every day Alex finds normal life more difficult. Even getting into the car and tying his own shoe laces has become a struggle. The 37 year old father of two has recently been diagnosed with sleep apnoea and diabetes due to his weight problems.

Start Weight: 165kg. Michael began turning to food for comfort after his father died when he was just 5. His addiction has now increased his weight to a point where he can no longer enjoy a normal life. The quiet 28 year old accountant is ready to say goodbye to obesity and start living his life to the fullest.

Start Weight: 206kg. The largest competitor by over 50kg Damien knows he must loose weight now to save his own life. The 34 year old musician has been overweight for as long as he can remember but is ready to do what it takes to lose the flab and prolong his life.

Start Weight: 163kg. Compassionate, funnyman Marty would love start a family, but with the recent breakup of his 6 year relationship he has been left back at square one. Marty hopes that losing weight will help bring love into his life once again.

Start Weight: 151kg. This former American Football star and father of 2 was once a male pinup, but overeating has since taken its toll. The fast food restaurant owner is now desperate to lose weight to keep his beautiful wife and prevent future health problems.

Start Weight: 119kg. Desperately wanting to lose weight to increase her chances of becoming pregnant brought Munnalita to join the Biggest Loser. The 32 year old hairdresser has spent 2 years unsuccessfully on the IVF program but knows that losing weight could give her a real shot at the starting the family she dreams of.

Start Weight: 116kg. The determination of this 28 year old NSW police detective and mother of 2 will make her a tough competitor. Kelly

Start Weight: 114kg. Not only has Sam struggled to find love due to her weight problems but she recently lost her job as a gym manager because she was told she was bad influence to customers. At 37 she believes time is running out to find Mr Right.

Start Weight: 125kg. Bad habits lead Pati to become a chronic overeater at a young age. But her weight problems have grown much worse over the past 2 years. She knows its time to start controlling her eating and begin setting a good example to her large family she loves so dearly.

Start Weight: 150kg. 24 year old Sarah is the largest female competitor. She has tried every type of diet under the sun with no success but hopes the motivation from trainers will give her the motivation she needs to succeed.

Start Weight: 108. The lightest of the group Mel was once an elite rower but since giving up has found it difficult to stop binge eating. She hopes the support of the Biggest Loser program will give her the encouragement she needs to lose weight and find love.
