Born on 9 December, 1962, in New York, Felicity Huffman is an actress best known for playing Lynette Scavo in hit TV series, Desperate Housewives. After growing up with six sisters and one brother, Huffman attended high school at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and then went on to graduate from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama. Throughout her university years she also spent time studying at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

After appearing in a number of made-for-television movies and guest starring in shows such as The X-Files, Chicago Hope and Law & Order, Huffman finally scored a break in the TV series, Sports Night. The show lasted from 1998 to 2000, during which Huffman also starred in the film, Magnolia (1999). Post-Sports Night, Huffman returned to TV movies until appearing in the film House Hunting and several episodes of Frasier in 2003.

In 2004 Huffman scored a role in the film, Raising Helen, alongside Kate Hudson, Joan Cusack and Hayden Panettiere, before landing her biggest break on Desperate Housewives. Starring opposite Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Nicollette Sheridan and Doug Savant, Huffman plays Lynette Scavo, a working mother of four. In 2005 she won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

During film breaks for Desperate Housewives Huffman also starred in the films, Christmas with the Kranks (2004), Transamerica (2005) and Georgia Rule (with Lindsay Lohan and Jane Fonda, 2007). Her film career has proved to be just as successful as her television career, with Huffman winning a Golden Globe and being Oscar-nominated for her role in Transamerica.

Huffman married William H. Macy in 1997. They have two daughters; Sofia Grace (born 2000) and Georgia Grace (born 2002).
