American actor Chad Micheal Murray was born on 24 August 1981 in New York USA and began his career modeling in 1999 for designers Tommy Hilfiger and Gucci. Murray later decided he wanted to pursue a career in acting and appeared in one episode of television series Diagnosis Murder (1993) later appearing in hit television show Gilmore Girls.

Murray appeared alongside actress Lindsay Lohan in the Disney remake Freaky Friday and starred opposite actress and singer Hilary Duff in the romantic teen comedy A Cinderella Story (2004). In 2004 Murray starred in the horror House of Wax with stars Elisha Cuthbert, Brian Van Holt and Paris Hilton.
 
In 2003, Murray landed the role of Lucas Scott in hit teen series One Tree Hill with co-stars, Hilarie Burton and Lee Norris. While working on set, he met actress Sophia Bush with the pair dating for two years before getting married in 16 April 2005. The couple lasted five months and Bush filed court papers to have their marriage annulled. In March 1998, Murray became engaged to Kenzie Dalton who also appeared on series One Tree Hill.
